Great island eating is so hard to come by. Most everything is over-priced and just "ok" or really bad. Mossbacks is overpriced, yes, and is "ok". The good news is it's not overpriced and bad. The server was great and the food was fine.

Popped in because we were craving a seafood snack before dinner, so we ordered some beers and a few appetizers to share--walleye nuggets were really tasty, as were the pierogies and calamari!

We came for lunch, and everything was cooked perfectly. Delicious perch and walleye, obviously fresh.

Yumm! My husband and I went here for lunch and it was delicious. If you are looking for a good burger - here's your place!

Mossbacks is the place to go if you need something heavy (and possibly greasy) to soak up your booze. This is not a gourmet establishment. My walleye sandwich was big and fairly tasty. Though in retrospect, the bung was somewhat indistinguishable from the fish. The service was okay, considering I was there mid-afternoon. The interior is rather uninspired, and feels like it is kind of out of date. Think Bob Evans, then add a dollar sign.

Great location right downtown for fresh Lake fish. Our server was very knowledgable of the menu and kept the drinks full, all food was accurate and delicious. Half pound burgers, huge baskets of food will have you walking out full. The decor is warm and rich wood, with huge windows to give you a view of the Bay, and one of the main streets downtown to people watch. If you complain of price, you have obviously never been to the islands before. Stay home if you don't want to spend money! It's Put-In-Bay, baby!

We had dinner here and everyone was happy with their service and meal. Most of us ordered perch that tasted very fresh and was well prepared.

If you have, perhaps, overindulged in libations, Mossback's has you covered for "hangover" breakfast options. Pretty good restaurant for your basic burgers, sandwiches, fish, and salads, also. Located near the Boardwalk, lots of people-watching opportunities if you sit by a window. Prices are a bit steep for the quality of food and speed of service isn't anything to write home about, but chances are you'll leave Mossback's with a full belly and a satisfied feeling.

Overall food was very good and fairly priced. Fries are awesome! Was recommended by a local and I would not hesitate to pass on.

Loved it! That's all I have to say! Tasty food and excellent service by Jessica. She was patient with our local questions. Made it a delightful dinner. Oh! The sangria margarita is awesome!

The food was excellent and well-prepared. The service was standard. The service size, however, was measly for the price.

The owner is the nicest guy I've ever met. I highly recommend the perch basket, it is the best you will ever have

nothing special here. didn't take any pics cause the food looked like your normal everyday bar food. and tasted just as bland. only thing out of the ordinary was that they had pourogi's. probably spelled that wrong lol but yeah. service was a bit slow. decor was pretty cool and the place was clean.

Had a Black and Bleu Salad that was pretty good. The Black was an Angus burger and the bleu was blue cheese, of course. They have a Perch and Pierogie Plate that sounds fun!

I just love this place. Super awesome location. Pick a booth that overlooks the lake. The menu has the perfect amount of options. Burgers are great. Very fairly priced as mentioned in a previous review. Breakfast here has always been perfect. The staff is super nice and helpful...always making sure you are comfortable and satisfied. Very clean. You can tell that the family that owns this restaurant really cares about making sure your experience here is a great one.

Seems pricey but you get a boatload of food to make up for the price. Plus, as Kevin G. mentioned, you kind of come to Put-In-Bay knowing you are probably paying escalated prices at most establishments. Mossbacks has a bit more of an upscale feel than other restaurants on the island but it's still got that bar vibe that everyone seems to enjoy. The food is good and portions are crazy huge. I had a veggie panini that I could only eat half of as the sandwich bread was thicker than any I had ever seen and was overflowing with cheese and veggies not to mention the accompanying basket of fries. My sister had a salad of some sort that was on a gigantic salad plate and was full of oranges and berries. My mom opted for a side salad that was of normal size and a plate of perogies (random) that is actually an appetizer and again, that platter was decent sized if you plan to share. The special that night was a stuffed pork chop with several sides and even a brownie for dessert. My dad had that and loved every bite of it. The brownie dessert was large enough for everyone to enjoy several bites of. Go in hungry because you'll need any empty stomach to eat everything!

Awesome food, awesome service, awesome location just across from the boardwalk! Oh yeah, and super friendly too. Came here for the yellow perch, and it was fresh and delicious as expected. The pierogi and grilled onion added a nice flavorful twist to the dish. We are going to make this place our regular lunch spot for our island visits!

Came here while spending the day in Put-In-Bay. The meal was OK (had the fried walleye sandwich) but it was overpriced. Service was alright. It wasn't a bad meal, but for the price, I would have expected more.

This is an establishment for the older crowd. Very nice old fashioned bar gives you the feeling like your walking into a Cheers episode. Family run, this place is very customer service oriented with a great location in downtown Put In Bay. On my first night on the island, I was greeted with the best ribs I've ever had. Nice and tender, meat falling off the bone, slathered up nicely with barbecue sauce, pure heaven. And the portion was huge! They were so filling that I didn't even tough my potato which is a rare sight. I plan on coming back to PIB next year with Mossbacks being my first stop for food.

Ever so slightly more upscale than other restaurants in the area while still maintaining that pub feel. Excellent service thought and great location right next to the Boardwalk. The eats and drinks were a bit more costly and gave us all incredible heartburn- weird, I know as I'm not typically prone to it. But it was good!! I completely and utterly recommend the sauerkraut balls- sounds gross but you must try them!
